Rosenknoppar - Rose Buds
Here is a tender little bite that you need a piping bag to make. Sometimes I make them like in the photo; put two together with some melted chocolate as "glue". Use whatever filling you prefer. It is also nice to simply dip the bottom of the biscuits in chocolate and serve them as singles.
The recipe is simple. The piping is the time consuming part.
Ingredients: Makes 50 single biscuits.
200 g butter
1 dl icing sugar
2 tbsp vanilla sugar (if using extract, reduce the amount accordingly)
2.5 dl plain flour
2 dl potato starch
some icing sugar for decoration
Stir the butter until light and porous- Then add the other ingredients and mix thoroughly.
Pipe little shapes on a baking sheet covered with baking parchment.
Bake on middle rack at 175 C (347 F) approx 12 - 15 minutes or until they are just beginning to color slightly. Let them cool.
Melt some chocolate if you want to dip them or sandwich them, or make a butter cream filling, or use your imagination! Dust with a little icing sugar before serving.
