Mandel och nougatrutor - Almond and Nougat Tray Bake

This is an easy and delicious tray bake treat. Dense and sweet, it is almost like a chocolate bar. So simple to make and makes a lot, this is perfect for a large crowd!

Makes 40 squares.


300 g. butter
9 dl oat flakes
2 dl almonds
1 tsp baking powder
2 dl sugar
1 egg

200 g. nougat


Prepare an oven tray, 30 x 20 cm by lining it with baking parchment.
Melt the butter in a saucepan, stir in the oats. Let the mixture sit until the oats have softened.
Chop the almonds and mix with baking powder and sugar. 

Whisk the egg and mix in with the almonds.
Stir this into the oats and combine into a even mixture.

Press the mixture into the lined oven tray and bake on middle rack, 225 C (435 F) approx. 15 minutes.

Shave the nougat evenly over the still warm cake so that it melts and covers it. Decorate using a fork, tracing a pattern across the surface. Or melt some chocolate and drizzle over...

Let it all cool before cutting into 40 squares. Good luck!
